Tuesday morning I woke up to Kaelin yelling for me to help her. I jump up assuming she needs to go potty. As soon as I get to her room she tells me that she can't find her kangaroo. Now, some of you might be thinking that it's a lovable stuffed animal of hers or something, but it's not. In fact it doesn't even exist....I'm pretty dumbfounded when she asks me where it's at and to help her find it, so I decided to just ask her some questions as to what she's talking about. This might not be word for word, but it went pretty much like this...
Mommy: What kangaroo?
Kaelin: The one that was in my room.
Mommy: When?
Kaelin: Last night. It slept in my room.
Mommy: Well, I don't see it now.
Kaelin: But Mommy, it was sleeping right here (points to the floor beside her bed)
Mommy: Hmmm, are you sure you weren't dreaming?
Kaelin: (laughs) No Mommy, it was right here, but then it jumped away. It might be in my closet.
Mommy: (after checking the closet) Nope, no kangaroo. Maybe it went back to Austraila.
Kaelin: Maybe, but I want it to come back.
She didn't stop talking about it all day today. Must've been a very vivid dream.
Now, some of you might think that she is strange, but she gets "sleepwalking" from Randy. Anyone who knows Randy well, knows that he does VERY strange things in his sleep. There are countless stories about Turtles, masonry work, and robbers. I would probably need to start a new blog just for them, but he has done some very crazy and silly things while sleeping.
This isn't the first time she's done something like this. A few weeks ago, we heard her crying and went to go check on her. I got into the room first and she was crying that there was a lizard in her room (not impossible since we live in FL, but highly unlikely). She kept saying that it was on her arm. I brushed her arm off repeatedly, but "it was still there." She finally calmed down after Randy came in and told her, "it's ok, I have those dreams too."
AHHH, I live with a very entertaining bunch and I love it! It makes for funny and cheap entertainment.

lol, thats awesome!! I love it when they are so determined about stuff! :)
Kids have such vivid dreams, it's hard to convince them about dreams and that it didn't really happen. I love it though because the dreams usually make me laugh!

That is the cutest! Sounds like her imagination is kicking in too. Kevin has a lot of stories about things I say during the night too. :)
