Joy = An Ice Cream Truck

After an emotional week, we were looking forward to a happier one this week. Who knew that an ice cream truck could give such joy. Randy was busy working on his truck, so Kaelin, Reece and I were outside playing while he worked. Soon, we heard the sound of the ice cream truck coming down the road. I don't really know if Kaelin had much of an idea what was inside that musical truck, except that the words ice cream always made her excited. We decided it was a great time to let her experience it.

Now, to some of you, it might not be a big deal, but I grew up in a rural area, where the only ice cream truck we had was the Schwan's truck. Kaelin was so excited to hear that she was going to get some ice cream. I asked her which one she wanted, but she just looked at me and smiled, so I picked an ice cream sandwich for her. She just beamed when she saw it. (She LOVES ice cream, but doesn't get it very often.) Such happiness over ice cream and a new experience. I had some ice cream too and it was nothing compared to Schwan's, but it was all about the experience. It lifted our mood and for just a few moments our worries went away. It's a good reminder to enjoy the simple things in life.

P.S.
Yes, I realize that I wrote "ice cream" 10 times in this post. :) (Ok, now it's 11 times.)
