Reece has loved his pacifier (we have too), since he was a newborn. He was extremely fussy with colic and reflux, so anything to soothe him was terrific. From about 6 months on, he only used it at night. Well, we decided it was time to say goodbye to it a few weeks ago. We stopped "cold turkey". I'm actually REALLY shocked that it went so well. The first few naps were rough, but he really didn't fuss for it at night.
Last night I ran across these pictures of the day that we took it away and I just cried. Where did my baby go? I know babies grow up, but not seeing him with a pacifier anymore, make it so real to me. Don't get me wrong, I'm grateful that he transitioned from it well, but it's bittersweet. Thankfully he's still a little cuddlebug. I don't know what I'll do when he stops that, I'll probably have a nervous breakdown. ;)
His favorite things: "Monk" and his blanket

That is sad!! So is packing up the clothes they've outgrown.
i think it was harder for me than it was for jackson when his paci "broke" and we had to throw it away.
and jackson has the same monkey ~ "monkey monk" - that he sleeps with every night :)
So glad he did so well. I love pacifer pictures! :)
I copied your potato soup recipe, it sounds very yummy. I still need to get a potato peeler.
What a sweet sweet tiny baby picture of Reece. He just get's cutier with age. :)
Glad the transition went well for him.
